Mykonos continued

The island of Mykonos is full of surprises. Every twist and turn brings with it new blue and white adventures, promises of authentic culture and history. I have loved exploring the winding streets, taking pictures at every second, wanting to keep the movie-like scenes with me forever.  Whether it’s a cute little cove, complimented by the clearest of waters, or a street bustling with locals, I love it all.

We have moved hotels a couple of times, keen to explore all aspects of the island. We stayed at the beautiful Belvedere Hotel, a crisp white haven at the town’s summit. After days wondering, popping in to the most divine little boutiques (sometimes it pays to come here empty handed; we wanted to buy it all), there is nothing better than jumping in to the tantalizing pool, letting your mind wonder as you gaze upon the floating bourgonvilia; pink floral dots just sipping past you.

Then came the Santa Marina, a little slice of beach luxury, with what seemed like hundreds of little pools placed intricately up the cliff. Everywhere you looked were different coves; some offering honeymoon worthy vistas, others foamy waves for some added drama.

Whilst you can’t stay in a hotel forever, we wanted to. They’re all that beautiful. But they’re only little snippets of what this island has to offer, and so the rest of it awaits…
